Race Committee - Ren Boericke, Ann Kelly, and Barbara Zautner set a perfect "I2" course for the twelve PHRF boats that comprised the fleet for the 35th annual regatta. Steady winds from the south provided a perfect sailing day. A fast first leg with the J/80 leading at the first mark followed closely by Merchant and then Alexanderson, Hoopes, and Voss. Contact at the leeward mark and some good tactics upwind shuffled the order a bit and by the last leg it was going to be a close sprint to the finish. Wild Thing was first across followed by Spirit, but not enough on corrected time to beat Merchant, his first time at winning this memorable trophy.
